He talks the talk, and he walks the walk.

Sure, Noah Lyles might be confident and borderline cocky, but the American sprinter produced the goods on Sunday in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics, beating out favorite Kishane Thompson of Jamaica for the gold medal.

Lyles is officially the fastest man in the world, and he's actually the first US-born sprinter to win the gold since Justin Gatlin did so in 2004 in Athens, Greece. Following his victory, which happened by the slimmest of margins, the 27-year-old had a fiery message for the fans watching all over the globe. Via NBC Olympics:

Another American also got on the podium, with Fred Kerley winning the bronze medal. 80,000 people packed the Stade de France to watch the 100m dash, which is always one of the most exciting events at the Summer Olympics.
