Noah Lyles claimed gold in the 100m dash on Sunday, narrowly edging Jamaican sprinter Kishane Thompson in a photo finish. The American Olympian backed up his World Championship title with another win in Paris, recording a 9.79 second time.

Thousands of fans packed Stade de France for the marquee event, including several members of the United States men's basketball team.

Lyles captured the basketball world's attention last year when he criticized the NBA for calling its league winner the "world champions."

“You know what hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on their head. World champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong. I love the U.S. — at times — but that ain’t the world. That is not the world," Lyles said in 2023. "We are the world. We have almost every country out here fighting, thriving, putting on their flag to show that they are represented. There ain’t no flags in the NBA. We gotta do more. We gotta be presented to the world.”

Following Lyles' victory on Sunday, NBA superstar Joel Embiid was seen quickly exiting the stadium.

Fans flooded social media with reactions to this viral clip.

"Embiid really dipped as soon as Noah Lyles won," one wrote.

"LMFAOOOO LOOK AT EMBIID LEAVING," another said.

"YALL SEE EMBIID LEAVING," another added.
