United States sprinter Noah Lyles quickly went viral on Sunday for a few reasons. First, he lost the semifinal race in the 100-meter for taunting his opponent.

Then, hours later, he won his first-ever Olympic gold medal in one of the best finishes of all time over Jamaican sprinter Kishane Thompson. Reactions came pouring in after the photo finish, including from Joel Embiid, Kirk Herbstreit, and plenty of others.

It was a must-see finish, and Lyles won gold by five one-thousandths of a second.

After the race ended, Lyles took to X with a perfect post that included him celebrating the victory.

"I Told You America I Got This!" The hashtag read, OlympicChampion.

The 27-year-old won the bronze medal in Tokyo in the 200-meter race and has plenty of other accolades to his name.

He was even ranked No. 1 in the world in the 100 and 200-meter in 2023, but getting that first Olympic medal had been on his mind.

Fans quickly celebrated Lyles' performance and took note of his post on X.

"Amazing job @LylesNoah. You’re a legend forever now," one fan wrote with American flag emojis.

Another said, "Toughest field in history. This was the definition of a clutch performance."

    The reactions kept coming.

"Champion of what? The United States? No, the WORLD!!!!!!!"

It was a long road to get it, and it was an unreal turn of events after he lost the semifinal heat earlier in the same day.

But, at long last, Noah Lyles is an Olympic Champion.
