Experts recommend keeping hole depths to no more than 2 feet and maintaining vigilance. From 1997 to 2007, collapsing sand holes caused 31 deaths in the U.S., primarily among young boys. Holes as shallow as 2 feet have proven fatal. To prevent such tragedies, always fill in holes after digging and stay cautious of existing pits. As enjoyable as digging may seem, the hidden dangers far outweigh the fun. Stay safe and prioritize awareness over thrill.
