    Flash flood warnings issued for several central Virginia areas

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Multiple flash food warnings have been issued throughout central Virginia Sunday evening.

    According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the following counties are under a flash flood warning until 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 4.

    • Charles City County
    • James City County
    • New Kent County

    A flash flood warning means flash flooding is expected to occur in the affected areas due to excessive rain.
