Noah Lyles has proven to be one of the best athletes the United States has in Paris, and after winning his first career gold medal on Sunday in the 100-meter race by a photo finish, Lyles expressed his gratitude and a powerful message to everybody with setbacks.

“I have asthma, allergies, dyslexia, ADD, anxiety, and depression. But I will tell you that what you have does not define what you can become. Why not you?” Lyles said via X.

An incredible win from an incredible competitor, and he will have another opportunity on Monday when he competes in the 200-meter, as he looks to be the first person since Carl Lewis in 1984 to win gold medals in both the 100-meter and the 200-meter.
