Suni Lee Makes 'Official' Announcement About Her Gymnastics 'Curse'

It was Suni Lee who took the limelight on Sunday as she took part in the uneven bars final of the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old finished third with a score of 14.8 to claim her second bronze medal in the Summer Games, on top of her one gold medal in the team all-around final.

Lee finished third behind Qiu Qiyuan of China, who won the silver medal with a score of 15.5. The highlight of the competition, however, was Algeria's 17-year-old gymnast Kaylia Nemour, whose score of 15.7 was enough to earn her country's first medal in the Paris Olympics. Nemour also made history as the first African to win a gold medal in gymnastics in the Olympics.

For her part, however, Lee was overjoyed with her incredible achievement. This prompted an announcement from the American just hours after the event concluded.

"can officially say i broke my red leo curse!!😆😆" she posted on X, formerly Twitter.

For those that require context, Lee was referring to the red leotard uniform she was wearing during Sunday's final. She hasn't found much success with this particular color in the past, but her bronze-medal finish, as she said, has officially broken her curse.

It will now be very interesting to see what Lee will be wearing on Monday when she competes in the balance beam final along with teammate Simone Biles.

Then again, Lee is without a doubt one of the most talented and hard-working gymnasts we've ever come across; so in truth, the color of her uniform will be nothing more than superstition.
