    Zac Efron breaks silence after horror swimming pool accident after fall that left him 'unrecognizable'

    Zac Efron has expressed his gratitude to fans for their well-wishes after speaking out for the first time since he was hurriedly taken to hospital during his Spanish holiday. The 36-year-old actor found himself in a medical emergency earlier this week due to an "incident in a swimming pool".

    He has now posted on Instagram, flaunting his muscular build as he lifts weights on a yoga ball. He captioned the photo : "Happy and healthy - thanks for the well wishes."

    Reports reveal he was rushed to the hospital after being discovered in the swimming pool by two villa employees, who then rescued him from the water. It's believed the event occurred last Friday night. The star's agent confirmed his hospital visit, noting it was merely a "precautionary measure."

    Having been discharged on Saturday, his spokesperson informed TMZ that the situation was "minor" and Zac is recuperating just fine. Efron has spent recent months touring Europe; years beforehand, he endured a serious accident that badly damaged his jaw.

    Efron had an unfortunate fall at home, running in socks, which led to his chin colliding with a granite fountain. In a chat with Men's Health Magazine back in 2022, he recounted the frightening moment when he lost consciousness and awoke with "his chin bone hanging off his face.:

    While on the mend from his injury, Zac noticed his jaw muscles had become "really big", leading him to work with a physical therapist. He elaborated: "The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big."

    Your masseter, located in your face and jaw, is central to chewing. In the wake of his mishap, Zac became the subject of plastic surgery gossip. Commenting on the rumors, he divulged to the publication: "If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do, I definitely wouldn't be able to do this work."
