AARON WAN-BISSAKA is demanding a multi-million pound pay-off from Manchester United to leave the club this summer.
SunSport has learned that while West Ham are willing to meet United’s £18million valuation for Wan-Bissaka they cannot afford his wage demands leaving the deal in limbo.
The 26-year-old has less than 12 months left on his contract at Old Trafford.
And he could bank a huge signing-on fee by staying put and leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Wan-Bissaka’s representatives are pushing for United to give the player a chunk of the £18m fee they will receive from West Ham in order to get the deal done this summer.
The former Crystal Palace defender has been on the same £90,000-a-week contract at United since he joined the club five years ago.
And he is determined to secure a significant increase, which West Ham cannot offer.
Inter Milan are also interested in Wan-Bissaka and he could sign a pre-contract agreement with the Italian club in January if the West Ham move breaks down.
West Ham have had a busy transfer window under new manager Julen Lopetegui and have already spent more than £100m this summer.
Lopetegui’s final request for the club during the summer window is a new right-back to provide competition to Czech Republic international Vladimir Coufal.
United are eager sell Wan-Bissaka this summer and have already identified Bayern Munich ‘s Moroccan international right-back Noussair Mazraoui as his replacement.
West Ham also inquired about Mazraoui, but are resigned to missing out on the Moroccan international with Wan-Bissaka now their main target.
In a potential complication Wan-Bissaka picked up an injury in United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in South Carolina over the weekend, but it is not thought to be serious.
