As reported by Sports Chosun, Jeon Do-Yeon revealed that she initially did not want to star in the 2024 Korean movie Revolver. But, she later changed her mind and ended up joining the main cast of the film. She also disclosed the reason behind it. As per the news outlet, she said, “Actually, I didn’t want to do ‘Revolver’, but I ended up choosing because of a promise….To be honest, I didn’t want to do this work. I thought Director Seung-wook Oh would write the script quickly after finishing ‘The Shameless’.”

She further explained that she felt extremely tired at the time she received the offer for the movie. She has just completed working in Kill Boksoon and right after that she began filming for the popular K-drama, Crash Course in Romance. Thus, she was exhausted. In the interview, Jeon Do-Yeon said, “I had a really busy time in the meantime. I finished ‘Kill Bok-soon’ and started filming ‘Ilta Scandal’ (Crash Course in Romance) right away, so I was really exhausted. That’s why I didn’t want to do it when I received the script. I wanted to rest, but I had to prepare for ‘Revolver’ during that time. I didn’t feel desperate because I had to do ‘Revolver’ at a time when I needed to rest.”

As per Sports Chosun, the actress also talked about her concern regarding the script of Revolver giving off similar energy as The Shameless. She continued, “Before seeing the character of Ha Soo-young, I was worried because the ‘Revolver’ script had a bit of a ‘The Shameless’ vibe to it….I had worked with Director Oh Seung-wook on his previous work, so I wondered how I could avoid that…. So I wondered if I could show Ha Soo-young in ‘Revolver’ in a different way from Kim Hye-kyung in ‘The Shameless’. However, the movie came out much more friendly than the script….In the end, it’s just a promise, right? After all, it’s a promise.”

Don’t forget to watch Revolver in theaters on August 7, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
