Tennis fans all around the world couldn't help but get emotional as well after seeing Novak Djokovic's reaction to his first Olympic gold medal win.

The Serbian icon beat Carlos Alcaraz in the men's singles final at Roland Garros on Sunday, dispatching the Spanish international in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6. An Olympic gold was all that was missing in Djokovic's storied career, and it was clear in the showdown that he came there to win.

Right after he took down his much younger rival, Djokovic quickly broke down in tears on center court as he celebrated his victory. What got fans even more emotional, however, was a close-up video of the Djoker while he was crying.

It showed Djokovic's hands shaking as he was kneeling down and touching the court, still in disbelief over what he just accomplished for himself and his country.

"Novak's emotions got me! He's had an incredible career, but this moment shows how much the Olympic gold means to him. Beating Alcaraz, one of the toughest opponents, makes it even sweeter. Respect for the champ!" a fan wrote.

"This is so emotional," another supporter shared. A commenter added, "He is undoubtedly one of the legends of the sport, it is amazing what he has achieved."

A social media user further expressed shock, sharing, "Djokovic was shaking with emotion after match point."

"He wanted that gold medal so badly! Goosebumps," a fifth fan added.

At 37 years old, it was likely Novak Djokovic's final chance to get an Olympic gold. Prior to the Paris win, his best result in the Olympics was a bronze medal back in the 2008 Beijing Summer Games.

Now, Djokovic has completed the "Golden Slam" after winning all four majors multiple times throughout his lengthy tennis career and the Olympic gold. The Joker is a 24-time Grand Slam winner.

It wasn't easy, however, as the 21-year-old Alcaraz proved to be a massive challenge. Djokovic had to go through two tie-breaks just to fend him off, with the first set of their battle even lasting 94 minutes.

At the end of the day, it was worth it for Djokovic.
