Even birds catch a little attitude every now and then. Maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the cage. Furby the Cockatoo isn't ashamed to admit that at least he's giving "nice" a good attempt and who can blame him?

The hilarious TikTok video posted by @furbythebirb reveals the snarky Cockatoo admitting to at least "trying" to be nice, and OMG, it's a mood! Watch the smart boy explain his side!

In the funny clip, Mom tells Furby to "be nice," to which he responds, "I'm trying to." She asks him to try harder, and his response is to take a look in the mirror and repeat, "I tried! I said I try!"

She gives him a pass because he's the cutest thing ever, adding "I'll surely try." The conversation shifts when he asks permission to stand on her arm before the clip cuts to Furby on his branch still repeating "I'll be good!"

From there, the smarty pants puts on a show flapping his wings. "I want to flap for best friend," he says. In the end, the two end up on the couch exchanging kisses, so we'll just say he was very nice and a very good boy!

With more than 91,000 likes and nearly 1,500 comments, many loyal Furby fans think he did a good job "trying."

"I mean, at least he tried," one person wrote. "He said that he tried. He did his best," another said.

The moral is, don't get on Furby's bad side, or he may not be able to play nice!

Do Birds Understand What They're Saying?

Hearing Furby speak and respond intelligently (like with flapping his wings), it seems as though he really knows what he's talking about. But sorry to burst your bubble—Pango Vet says parrots and exotic birds don't understand the meaning behind our words. They're just really good at watching listening, and mimicking.

However, when they're around a human for long periods, they can understand the context. For example, if you show them to say "hello" when someone walks into a room, they may not completely get what that word means, but when they're supposed to use it. So in a sense, you can teach them to talk and to use words and phrases in the right situations, but that doesn't equate to them really getting what it all means.

Whatever they understand or don't, they're a riot, and they know it!
