Dolce & Gabbana has introduced a new line of perfume for pooches called Fefé. Instead of whiffing like a wet blanket, cultured canines can boast “warm notes” of musk, sandalwood and ylang ylang, according to the perfume’s fragrance notes. “I am delicate, authentic, charismatic, because I’m not just a dog, I’m Fefé,” said an ad for the new product—which is named after co-founder Domenico Dolce’s own pup. Reportedly, the designer is attempting to break into the market to take advantage of the rising global pet industry, which is expected to rise from $320 billion to $500 billion by 2030, according to the Guardian . “The market has reacted well, everyone went crazy at the announcement,” Stefano Gabbana told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. It remains to be seen if dog owners and their beloved pets will be so keen. The Guardian reported that a British animal welfare expert warned against perfumes and sprays as “some smells can be really unpleasant for dogs.”
