A24 Wants to Make You a Lamb Parent

Forget your state’s lottery — A24 has the scratch-off game covered. The indie studio has launched its first-ever scratch-off prize event for fans, and it comes with a (literal, in one case) zoo worth of prizes.

Beginning August 2, AAA24 members have a chance to win exclusive prizes ranging from coveted merchandise to set visits on upcoming A24 films, as well as other unforgettable exclusive experiences . To participate, fans can join membership program AAA24, which includes early access to ticket sales and merch. Members will receive their scratcher in their welcome package and/or first zine shipment; the membership is $5/month or $55/year at launch for U.S. customers, and $9.99/month or $99/year for customers in all other countries.

The scratcher prizes include adopting a baby lamb — a nod to the twisted 2021 family drama “Lamb” — and a roundtrip ticket to Norway and two-night stay at the “Ex Machina” house (aka the Juvet Landskaphotell).

To be clear, A24 doesn’t expect you to go all Noomi Rapace in “Lamb” and mother said baby sheep. Instead, the studio will adopt the animal at Windbridge Fiber Farm for you, but you can still name them and receive their wool for one year.

If becoming a lamb parent and going on a free vacation doesn’t do it for you, the most pragmatic A24 fans might get excited for a full year of comped laundry (including tax!), inspired by Best Picture winner “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” And “Love Lies Bleeding” lovers will be amped for a private personal training session with the film’s fitness trainer Steve Zim — he helped get Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brien in fighting shape.

Additional prizes include one year of every merch drop, archival merch pieces like the “Midsommar” bear in a cage and the “Uncut Gems” basketball, gift cards up to $2,424, a lifetime AAA24 membership, 1-of-1 24K gold AAA24 member pin, and a visit to an upcoming A24 film set.

Upcoming A24 films include “Famous,” a thriller starring Zac Efron in a “Bowfinger”-type double role for “Eastbound and Down” director Jody Hill and “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail, who produces, and “Bodies Bodies Bodies” director Halina Reijn’s latest, “Babygirl.” Reijn’s movie will debut at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in competition, with Nicole Kidman playing a  successful CEO who begins an illicit affair with her much younger intern (Harris Dickinson); it premieres December 20 in theaters.

Venice Film Festival artistic director Alberto Barbera told Variety that the film is “about a sadomasochistic relationship within an American corporation” and is a testament to the changing culture.

“Compared to other similar films, the ending actually testifies to the differences between now and the past,” Barbera said. “A film on this same theme 20 or 30 years ago would have ended very differently. Without spoilers, I will say that the female protagonist who engages in illicit behavior, so to speak, in the past would have been punished.”
