The End. Clothing x Adidas Spezial “By the Sea” collection marks End.’s first Spezial collaboration and brings back a selection of silhouettes released over the past decade. The Samba Deco Spzl, Wilsy Spzl and Moscorp 2 Spzl make up the assortment inspired by the British seaside, each of which features a removable leather badge commemorating 10 years of the line led by Gary Aspden.
The Samba Deco, which Spezial has released a number of times, is made of a blue pigskin suede with seaweed green leather overlays, and rather than appearing as a panel, the classic sneaker’s T-Toe shape is traced with stitching. Gold is used for mismatched heel logos for both parties and the “Samba Spzl” text above the Three Stripes, and co-branding appears on the tongue tag and repeating graphic insole.
A one-to-one recreation of the obscure Universal Super indoor sneaker from the ’80s, the Wilsy made its debut in 2018 for Spezial and is named for Tony “Mr. Manchester” Wilson, the radio broadcaster and indie record label owner behind Joy Division and New Order. It gets a “Chalk White” treatment with mesh and nubuck overlays that include a “Tribe Green” mustache, striping and tongue tag. Translucent rubber is used for the outsole, and the branding arrangement on the tongue, heel and insole match the other two sneakers in the collection.
Rounding out the assortment is the tonal sand-colored Moscorp 2, which boasts a waterproof Corduro canvas with suede detailing that includes a black mustache, striping, and tongue tag. The silhouette is inspired by the Madrisa outdoor sneaker from the ’80s.
In addition to the sneakers, End. and Adidas Spezial will also release and accessories including a track suit, jacket, T-shirts, polo and hats.
The End. Clothing x Adidas Spezial “By the Sea” sneakers will release August 9 through End.’s website. Pricing for the Samba Deco and Wilsy is set at $115, while the Moscorp 2 will be $125.
