Manchester United have reportedly told West Ham to increase their offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the Hammers readying a new bid.

Under the guidance of new boss Julen Lopetegui, the London club has been active in the transfer market, bringing in several new faces. However, securing the services of right-back Wan-Bissaka remains an unfinished task. After rejecting an initial bid, United has made it clear they want $23 million (£18 million) for the player, according to the Daily Mail.

With just 12 months left on his contract, United are prepared to let Wan-Bissaka go, which could help fund their own transfer ambitions. However, the two clubs are yet to agree on a valuation for the player. Despite being on the transfer list, Wan-Bissaka remained part of United's pre-season tour in the US, largely due to a shortage of fit and available players.

United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on signing Noussair Mazraoui, the Bayern Munich right-back, and selling Wan-Bissaka would free up funds and space for defensive reshuffling ahead of the new season. Another Bayern player, Matthijs de Ligt, is also on United's radar as they look to strengthen their squad. Leny Yoro was a high-profile signing but the teenager suffered an injury on his debut and is now expected to be out for weeks with a foot injury.

Erik ten Hag might be prompted to delve back into the transfer market to address Manchester United's defensive woes from last season. The Red Devils have shown interest in Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite, but with a hefty £70m price tag and multiple bids already turned down, it's a tough negotiation.

Scott McTominay, previously eyed by West Ham, has caught the attention of several clubs, and United are open to considering offers for most of their players. Despite his key role last season, McTominay could be on the move if the offer is right.

Ten Hag has echoed the club leadership's readiness to engage in the transfer market, provided the conditions are favourable. "We hope. We are always looking and this new leadership team is really eager to do business and to make deals. They are on it. But we have to wait if the timing is there and if the opportunities are there," he commented.
