Queen Rania of Jordan Does High-low Fashion in Cos Power Suit With Bottega Veneta Bag for Visit to Cancer Center

Queen Rania of Jordan gave power suiting a modern twist during her visit to the Al-Hussein Cancer Center on July 31. The royal inaugurated the new Radiotherapy building at the medical center, located in Jordan.

For the official engagement, Queen Rania wore a coordinated set courtesy of Cos, a fashion brand from the H&M Group. The look featured a deconstructed cropped wool blazer in dark gray with matching deconstructed wide-leg wool trousers.

She added a few delicate jewelry pieces to her look and completed her attire with a pair of pumps. Queen Rania also carried a bag by Italian brand Bottega Veneta.

During her visit, Queen Rania was joined by Prince Talal bin Muhammad, the younger brother of King Hussein of Jordan, and Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center.

Cos, founded in March 2007 with headquarters in London, features a variety of luxury designs with affordability and sustainably crafted pieces. The fashion brand made its New York Fashion Week debut in September 2022. Last July, WWD reported that the brand will return to New York Fashion Week in 2024, showcasing designs on Sept. 10.

While Queen Rania is well known for her stylish wardrobe, wearing pieces by such designers as Elie Saab, among other notable fashion houses, her latest sartorial statement puts an updated spin on royal power suiting.

Several modern royal women have styled the power suit trend over the course of several decades. But it has become an essential part of many contemporary wardrobes within the last several years — Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales; Queen Letizia of Spain, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and more royal women have put their own unique spin on power suiting over the course of the last few years. Queen Rania’s interpretation of the trend marries affordability and sustainability while staying in vogue.
