    The Real Reason Bae Jinyoung Left CIX

    C9 Entertainment reported that Bae Jinyoung is leaving CIX. In a statement made by the company, the idol will be leaving the company after staying with them for five years.

    Bae Jinyoung was a contestant on the hit K-pop survival show Produce 101 and was the tenth member to be revealed of the group Wanna One. After Wanna One disbanded in 2019, he debuted as a soloist on April 26 with his self-composed single album, Hard To Say Goodbye . Later in the year, Bae Jinyoung debuted as part of the five-member group CIX. The group debuted on July 23, 2019, with EP Hello Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger .

    Bae Jinyoung was the Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Center, and Face of the Group . The company terminated his contract on August 1, 2024.

    Why did Bae Jinyoung leave CIX?

    Bae Jinyoung decided to not renew his contract with the company. In the leadup to C9’s announcement, TenAsia reported that the singer left the group after “after a long discussion.”

    C9 wrote their statement in Japanese, Korean, and English, “We express our gratitude to Bae Jinyoung for his hard work as a member of CIX and ask for your continued support [in his] new chapter.” The company also confirmed that the four members BX, SEUNGHUN, YONGHEE, and HYUNSIK will be continuing their activities as a group.

    According to the C9, CIX is “currently preparing for a new album to be released in the second half of the year, along with various performances.” Their last release was their single album 0 or 1 which dropped on January 24, 2024.
