We knew that the two-part premiere — beginning Monday, Sept. 23 (8/7c) — would involve an explosive train derailment, but we can apparently also add “poison cloud of death” to the list of obstacles facing the 126 in the series’ long-awaited return.
We actually know quite a bit about what to expect in Season 5, so here’s a quick run-down: J udd resigns from the 126 , leaving Paul and Marjan to compete for the now-vacant lieutenant position; following in Grace’s footsteps, Wyatt becomes a 9-1-1 dispatcher ; Tommy decides to move forward in her relationship with Trevor, encountering difficult roadblocks along the way; T.K. is surprised on his 30th birthday by someone from his past that could apparently change his and Carlos’ lives forever; and Carlos becomes unhealthily invested in solving his father’s murder.
It’s not yet known whether Season 5 will be 9-1-1: Lone Star ‘s last, but here’s what Brian Michael Smith (aka Paul Strickland) recently told TVLine: “ I can’t say much to the rumors . I feel like the network said, ‘Let’s wait and see what the numbers have to say,’ so we’re going to wait and see what the numbers have to say. I hope that means everybody will tune in and show the same amount of love and support they’ve been showing us for the first four seasons.”
