One of the most action-packed installments this season, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 was released on Sunday, August 4, 2024, on Netflix. The episode, “A Bitter Choice,” shows Natsu’s party making a tough decision against the Water Dragon God while the White Mage infiltrates the Fairy Tail guild in Magnolia and dyes them white.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 begins with Natsu, Wendy, and Erza continuing their fight against the Diabolos. Natsu’s party has the upper hand against the enemies, and soon Lucy, Gray, Carla, and Happy arrive to assist them in the battle.
What happened in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5?
Natsu unleashes fire attacks at Madmole, which leaves him in shambles. However, the Diabolos mage rises through the ashes. Skullion spots Erza overpowering Kiria and teleports the latter to himself. Skullion admits the Diabolos’ momentary defeat as he acknowledges the strength of the Fairy Tail members.
However, when Natsu declares his party will protect the Water Dragon God, Mercphobia, the Diabolos reveal they will not let it happen. Moreover, they promise to encounter Natsu every time they fight a dragon. Not only does Skullion say they will return but also that there aopear more mages in the scene.
This surprises Natsu’s party, but before they have a chance to continue the conversation, the Diabolos mages teleport away, and their ship turns to ashes, which Erza believes happens due to Molding Magic.
Natsu’s party makes arrangements to return to Ermina while Mercphobia grabs Karameel’s neck and asks her to escape. By the time the party arrives, Mercphobia has already unleashed chaos. Natsu saves Sharkette upon arriving and witnesses the Water Dragon God going berserk.
Karameel explains the chaos is due to her fault since she allowed the White Mage to steal Mercphobia’s powers. She justifies this by further explaining how Mercphobia was always scared of his powers being out of control, ultimately leading to mass destruction.
Reminiscing about Mercphobia’s agony, Karameel says she heard rumors about the White Magic Cult that turns everything white. To stop Mercphobia, Karameel bursts into tears and begs Natsu to kill him.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 ending spoilers
Fairy Tail: 100 Years quest episode 5 shifts to Magnolia, where the Fairy Tail guild has trapped Touka. When the guild questions her, she responds she joined Fairy Tail for Natsu. However, she believes Wendy can cast a separation spell and separate the White Wizard from her body.
The White Wizard takes control of Touka’s body and vows to turn the guild white by sucking its members’ magic. Meanwhile, Natsu remains indecisive about killing Mercphobia since he believes he is a good person.
The worsening circumstances call for immediate action, but Natsu refuses to kill the Water Dragon God. He lashes out at Karameel for her mistake with the White Wizard while his party persuades him to fight Mercphobia. In that, Carla reminds Natsu of his promise to protect his friends.
Although he remains hesitant, this finally urges the protagonist to take action. As such, Wendy casts Dragon Slayer Magic and the party launches a streak of attacks on the Water Dragon God. Consequently, Mercphobia dives into the ocean only to emerge back unharmed.
Using magic, Mercphobia raises the ocean water into the sky while emptying the ocean in Ermina. As such, an ocean begins to form over Ermina, posing a threat to the lives of aquatic creatures of the town. This leaves Natsu’s party utterly surprised as they attempt to process the Water Dragon God’s overwhelming power.
In Magnolia, the White Wizard has finished the process of defeating all the Fairy Tail members. She proudly declares she has dyed the guild white as she sits victoriously among the defeated members.
