Former President Donald Trump sat for a controversial interview on Monday with streamer Adin Ross, who has been banned for “hateful content” from streaming platform Twitch.

Ross fawned over the former president and gave him both a Rolex and Tesla Cybertruck with the image of Trump taken right after he survived an assassination attempt last month printed on it.

After the interview, Ross and Trump did a dance outside for the cameras and Trump reiterated his new pro-TikTok position.

“I tell you about TikTok. Trump is going to keep TikTok going. Biden- Harris, they have no idea what it means,” Trump said, adding:

And all it’s going to do is be good for China the other way. We’re going to keep, we’re going to save TikTok. They want to destroy TikTok, so all the people on TikTok vote for Trump.

    “Vote for Trump!” added Ross.

Trump’s interview with Ross was immediately the focus of controversy as Ross has embraced white nationalists and neo-Nazis in the past, including avowed neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes – who once dined with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

“Per our Community Guidelines, unmoderated Hateful Conduct in chat, such as racist and anti-semitic messages, is not allowed on Twitch,” explained the streaming service Twitch in February 2023 when it permanently banned Ross.

“Ross has previously hosted Fuentes and advocated for him and other neo-Nazis to be allowed to stream on Kick,” noted Media Matters ahead of the interview, which was conducted on Kick and at one point had nearly 500,000 viewers.

Trump’s interview was seen as a way to court young voters, as is his promise to keep TikTok — a Chinese-owned company he once deemed a national security threat and promised to ban as president.

Trump in recent months has opposed banning TikTok and called the social media platform less problematic than Facebook, despite Republicans insisting that TikTok is both a grave national security threat and a propaganda tool for America’s enemies to brainwash the country’s youth.

“Just so everyone knows, especially the young people, Crooked Joe Biden is responsible for banning TikTok,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social in April.

Notably, Trump’s effort to ban the app took place just four months before the 2020 presidential election. Trump’s reversal on TikTok has raised eyebrows even among his closest allies. Steve Bannon , a former aide and campaign manager to Trump, linked Trump’s flip-flop to his meeting with GOP megadonor Jeff Yass, who has billions invested in the app.
