‘Chicago Med’ Adds Sarah Ramos, Darren Barnet to Cast Ahead of Season 10

Two new actors will be scrubbing in for Chicago Med’ s 10th season.

'SVU' Season 26, 'Chicago' Shows Set Premiere Dates at NBC

Sarah Ramos and Darren Barnet have joined the NBC drama as series regulars. Both will play doctors — Ramos’ character is named Dr. Caitlin Lenox, and Barnet will play Dor. John Frost. Other details are being kept under wraps for now.

They will join a cast that also features S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, Steven Weber and Luke Mitchell. Dominic Rains, who played Dr. Crockett Marcel, departed Chicago Med after season nine.

The series also has a new showrunner for season 10 in Allen MacDonald ( Harlan Coben’s Shelter, CSI ). He steps in after the departure of Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider , who had steered the show since its debut in 2015.

'Chicago Med' Showrunners Stepping Down

Ramos’ casting in Chicago Med marks a return to NBC, as she was part of Parenthood’ s cast from 2010-15. Her recent credits include The Bear (which also stars Platt and is filmed in Chicago), HBO’s Winning Time and director Damien Chazelle’s Babylon . She also created and starred in a series of viral Instagram videos she dubbed “Quarantscenes” in 2020. Ramos is repped by Echo Lake Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.

Barnet starred in Netflix’s Never Have I Ever for four seasons and recently appeared in the Jake Gyllenhaal-led Road House and Anyone But You with Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney. He also does voice work on Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory and Blue Eye Samurai . Barnet is repped by Paradigm, 111 Media and Felker Toczek.
