Suni Lee Complains About 'Annoying' Crowd Behavior In Olympic Final

Both Simone Biles and Suni Lee failed to reach the podium in Monday's balance beam final. This was after both U.S. gymnasts fell mid-routine, resulting in Biles and Lee finishing with a corresponding final score of 13.100. They finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
For her part, Biles stopped short of slamming the capacity crowd at the Bercy Arena, saying that the shushing fans should be the ones who should be shushed "because they're louder." Biles added that the entire situation was "really weird and awkward" and that "none of us liked it."
Lee echoed her teammates' sentiments in her post-competition press conference. The 21-year-old bemoaned the crowd shushing her and Biles as they cheered for each other, saying that the fans' behavior was "annoying."
"Even watching the other finals, I was like, 'It's a little too quiet in here,'" said Lee, via Tom Schad of USA TODAY. "When I was up there, I was like, 'People can probably hear me breathing.'
"It adds to the stress, just because yes, you're the only one up there, but it just makes you feel like you're the only one up there. I was feeling the pressure."

Performing in front of a 10,000-strong crowd is hard enough, but their undesirable behavior only makes the whole thing even more challenging for the competitors.
It's not that Lee or Biles are making excuses, but you really can't blame both of them for calling out the crowd here.
