Taylor Swift subtly claps back at Kanye West as he reignites their feud in latest song

The Swifties speculate that the pop singer subtly addressed Kanye West after the Chicago-bred rapper referenced her and beau Travis Kelce on his new album Vultures 2.

In the song Lifestyle (Demo), the eighth track on the rhymer’s record, the song lyric “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce ,” is rapped by Lil Wayne . He is featured on the song. Lil Wayne’s lyric “Taylor spliffs” seems to be a pun on the singer-songwriter’s name. Meanwhile, the “tight at the end like Travis Kelce” part seemingly references the NFL star’s position on the gridiron, a tight end for the Super Bowl-winning team the Kansas City Chiefs .

Neither Taylor nor her boyfriend Travis, who she has been dating since last summer, have publicly spoken about the song mentioned on Kanye’s record.

Months before Lifestyle (Demo) Kanye also mentioned the Style crooner on Vultures 1, claiming in the album’s song Carnival that he “made six Taylor Swift.” Now Taylor hasn’t directly called out the hip-hop legend for name-dropping her. However, her fans believe that the record-breaking music-maker addressed Kanye’s newest T-Swift reference during her concert in Warsaw, Poland, on Saturday for her latest Eras Tour stop.

Amid the “Red” set of the performance, Taylor wore a T-shirt that read I Bet You Think About Me while on stage. Even though Taylor had sported the shirt while on stage in the past, fans weren’t convinced that it was just a coincidence. Especially since the 14-time Grammy winner’s 2021 Red (Taylor’s Version) album is thought to be about her feud with Kanye.

The feud between Taylor and Travis dates back to 2009 when they both attended the MTV Video Music Awards. After winning Best Female Music Video at the awards show for her chart-topping song Young Belong With Me, Kanye walked onstage and interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech.

Taking the the mic, Kanye said: "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!"

Later on, Taylor broke her silence about the incident, telling reporters: "I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage … And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."

They had a brief reconciliation period when Taylor presented Kanye with the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs.

After the event, he sent her flowers and Taylor posted about them on Instagram, writing: "Awwww Kanye sent me the coolest flowers!! #KanTay2020 #BFFs".

However, the peace between them ended a few months after the VMAs when Kanye released the song Famous - a song on his 2016 album The Life of Pablo. In Famous he rapped: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b - -ch famous".

Kanye claimed he got permission after the pair were on the phone for around one hour. But shortly after, during Taylor's acceptance speech at the Grammys for Album of the Year she addressed the lyric.

"As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice. I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Taylor said.

Kanye and Taylor’s relationship hasn’t fully recovered since then.
