PARIS, France (NEXSTAR) — Track and Field took center stage on Monday at Stade de France as Team USA racked up several more medals during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Valerie Allman successfully defended her 2021 Olympic gold medal in discus with a throw of 68.74m.

In the men’s pole vault, Sam Kendricks secured a silver medal, finishing behind Armand Duplantis, who represented Sweden but had connections to LSU.

In all, Team USA boasted a total of 11 medals in track and field: three gold, four silver, and four bronze. This placed them significantly ahead of other top-performing countries such as Jamaica, Ukraine, and Australia, each with three medals in these events.

Additionally, the women’s 3×3 basketball team made a remarkable comeback. After losing their first three games, they won the next three and clinched the bronze medal against Canada with a score of 16-13.
