Red Mountain Retail Group acquired the building as part of a Big Lots portfolio acquisition last year and plans to demolish the existing structure to accommodate the new tenants.

No target date of opening of the new Dollar Tree store has yet been announced by the company. The address of the former Big Lots! is 1580 W. Valley Parkway, in Escondido's Home Depot Shopping Center.
