Olympics soccer games today: USWNT vs. Germany highlights Paris Games slate

The USWNT 's quest for its first Olympic gold since 2012 will continue today as they take on Germany (2016 Olympic champions) in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Both teams are coming off impressive wins in the quarterfinals, with the United States pulling off a 1-0 victory in extra time against Japan thanks to a clutch goal from Trinity Rodman . Meanwhile, the Germans are coming off a victory against defending gold medalists Canada.

The United States may be undefeated in these Olympics , but there are certainly some cracks in this team's shell. While Team USA has already beaten Germany in this tournament (having taken the team down 4-1 during the group stage), it should expect a much more competitive German squad this time around. Not only are they riding hot, having taken down Canada, but goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger seems near impossible to beat as of late.

That isn't to say the U.S. shouldn't feel confident. They've yet to be beaten in these Games and are 24-7-5 in 36 games all time against Germany.
