Liverpool transfer news as $33m 'talks held' and Willian Pacho move agreed after Arne Slot links

Liverpool, as you are probably aware, has not made a signing so far under Arne Slot . In fact, it is the only club in the Premier League yet to make an addition this summer.
That is not the full story, however. Work is happening behind the scenes and Slot has explained the lack of activity this week . "The bar is really high for new signings because we have so many good players," the Dutchman said.
"It is not so easy to first find a player to meet those standards. Then we have to find an agreement with them, so it is not always easy to find a player who can help us. Richard is working hard on it and let’s see what comes from this. If he’s not here with us then we speak on the phone many times.
"My main focus has been on working with the team and preparing them in the best possible way for the first Premier League game. He’s working on things and he keeps me updated." Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.
Spanish outlet Revelo says Liverpool has already held talks with La Liga side Valencia to discuss a transfer move for the 23-year-old. Mamardashvili, it is suggested, would arrive for a fee of $33m (£26m/€30m) but then be loaned out until Alisson Becker leaves Anfield , at which point he could take over from the Brazilian.
Bournemouth, the report states, is also interested in signing Mamardashvili from Valencia, so that is suggested as one option as a loan destination. The report claims that Liverpool would want to loan him to another Premier League club with Andoni Iraola keen.
Liverpool.com says: Signing a goalkeeper even without Caoimhin Kelleher leaving would be a surprise move but if Liverpool thinks Mamardashvili is the next best thing, it might be now or never. Valencia has already signed his replacement and so he is expected to move on amid plenty of interest.
Willian Pacho (Eintracht Frankfurt)
After it was reported in The Independent that Liverpool could sign $64m (£50m/€58m)-rated Ecuadorian center-back Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt, Sky Germany has suggested that PSG has begun talks with the Bundesliga side over a transfer move.
Pacho is said to be open to a move to PSG and a "total agreement" on personal terms has already been reached. It sounds like the deal is almost done, not long after the Ligue 1 giant confirmed the capture of Joao Neves, the 19-year-old wonderkid who has also been linked with a Liverpool transfer.
Liverpool.com says: Pacho is a good player but $64m would be a lot to spend on him. The South American is talented but there are other options out there on the market that could prove better value.
