Simone Biles Make A Huge Announcement About Her Calf Injury

When Simone Biles landed awkwardly during warmups ahead of her floor routine Monday at the 2024 Paris Olympics, many were holding their breath hoping the star U.S. gymnast was healthy enough to compete in the event.

Biles went over to her coaches, got her calf taped up and proceeded to win silver in the floor event to lock up her 11th career Olympic medal.

But now that Biles is done competing in Paris and the adrenaline has worn off, many have been wondering how bad her injury really is. The 27-year-old answered that question Monday night as she donned a walking boot during an interview with Mike Tirico on NBC Sports.

“The calf is good,” Biles told Tirico. “It’s just precautionary, making sure, because we still have tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff. So, just a little bit of soreness.”

Biles had issues with her calf throughout the week. It bothered her during qualifying for the team all-around final, and she closely monitored it during the rest of her individual events as well.

But fans would never be able to tell just how much the injury was or wasn’t bothering Biles, and she likely will never tell.

“I feel like elite athletes are pretty tough, so we’re just, through pain or pleasure, we’re ready for whatever,” Biles added.
