U.S. Gymnast Simone Biles In Walking Boot After 2024 Paris Olympics

Team USA gymnast Simone Biles' journey at the 2024 Paris Olympics has come and gone, and once again, the star left her mark on the world stage. Biles won a total of four Olympic medals, including three gold and one silver at this year's event.

Before the Olympic qualifiers on Sunday, July 28, Biles suffered a calf injury during warmups, which she aggravated on Monday morning before the floor final.

Although it didn't necessarily impact her scores in each final, the injury seemed to bother her throughout the week and is still troubling her after she has completed her Olympic run.

Late Monday night, Biles made an appearance on NBC and spoke with Mike Tirico as part of their Olympic coverage. A walking boot can clearly be seen on the same leg she injured over a week ago.

According to Today , Biles called the walking boot "precautionary" and said her calf was alright.

“Calf is good. It’s just precautionary because we still have tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff. So, just a little bit of soreness," Biles said.

Biles won gold in the team, all-around, and vault finals at the Paris Games. In the team final, Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Suni Lee secured a total score of 171.296, beating out Italy by nearly six points.

In the individual all-around final, Biles secured a score of 59.131, beating out Brazil gymnast Rebeca Andrade (57.932) by 1.199 points. Biles also beat Andrade in the vault final, scoring 15.300 compared to Andrade's 14.966.

Biles now has a total of 11 Olympic medals, seven of which are gold. Her first four came in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where Biles won the team, all-around, vault, and floor exercise finals. She won a silver medal in 2020 (Tokyo) but had to withdraw due to the twisties, leaving the event with just one medal.
