US to invest $2.2 billion in the nation's power grid

(Reuters) - The United States Department of Energy on Tuesday said it is investing $2.2 billion in the nation's power grid for eight projects across 18 states to protect against growing threats of extreme weather events, lower costs, and catalyze additional capacity.
