The Drama: Zendaya & Robert Pattinson In Talks to Star in Dream Scenario Director’s Latest Movie

Dream Scenario director Kristoffer Borgli’s next film The Drama is reportedly being backed by A24 and has Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in early talks to star.

Borgli will direct from his script for the movie, which is rumored to be about a romance that takes an unexpected turn before a couple’s wedding day.

Deadline‘s sources say A24 is keen for the project to get going and has made it a top priority now that Zendaya and Pattinson are in talks. The project would see Borgli and A24 reunite after last year’s oddball Nicolas Cage movie Dream Scenario.

What has The Drama filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli made before?

In Dream Scenario, Cage played a hapless family man, Paul Matthews, who finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom. It also starred Julianne Nicholson, Lily Bird, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, and Dylan Baker.

Dream Scenario was a breakthrough hit for Norwegian filmmaker Borgli, but he’d already made a decent impact from previous work. 2017’s Drib was based on the true story of Borgli’s friend, who almost became the face of a well-known energy drink. After a series of short films, Borgli followed that up with the darkly comic Sick of Myself, about a couple in an unhealthy competitive relationship who end up going to extreme lengths for attention and sympathy.

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson could be a winning combo for Borgli. Zendaya is having a massive 2024 thanks to her roles in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part Two. Pattinson continued to grow out of the shadow of his Twilight years with notable roles in The Batman, The Lighthouse, Tenet, and High Life. He’s due to star in Parasite director Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi movie Mickey 17.
