This Popular Celebrity Almost Made a Cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine had more cameos than was possible to take in on first viewing, from Chris Evans coming back as The Human Torch to Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Channing Tatum as Gambit – it feels like you'd need to see the film multiple times to take in every single celebrity cameo .

But news broke that even more celebrities were in discussions to reprise their roles, even though they didn't make it into the film.

Collider revealed that during an interview with Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy, Reynolds revealed that a fan-favorite actor, Nicolas Cage , who starred as Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider, in the 2007 and 2011 Ghost Rider films, was considered to return.

They asked Levy and Reynolds whether they had thought about bringing Cage back, and Reynolds told them "Yes" and that it "came to a conversation for sure. Yeah, but no."

Collider said that Reynolds had little more to say, revealing he "kept a pretty tight lip on further details".

So we almost had two Nicolas Cage releases in July, with Longlegs hitting theaters and beating Parasite to become NEON's highest-grossing film domestically . But, even without Cage, Deadpool & Wolverine made box office history across its opening weekend .
