Dixie County, FL - At least six people, including three children, have lost their lives as Hurricane Debby wreaked havoc across the Southeast on Monday.

The storm made landfall in Florida on Monday, bringing with it torrential rain, high winds, and catastrophic flooding.

According to officials, a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl died in Levy County after trees collapsed on their homes.

In Dixie County, a woman and a 12-year-old boy were killed in a car accident caused by wet road conditions.

Additionally, a truck driver lost his life following an accident involving a flooded highway in the Tampa area.

Georgia also saw its first storm-related fatality after a 19-year-old man was killed by a falling tree.

Debby, which was downgraded from a hurricane on Monday, is expected to stall over the region, leading to historic rainfall and widespread flooding.

Officials in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina have issued urgent warnings to residents, with curfews and states of emergency in place.

Rescue efforts have been underway, with hundreds saved from flooded homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

The storm has caused widespread power outages, as 160,000 customers remained without power in Florida and Georgia on Monday night, down from a peak of more than 350,000.
