DETROIT, MI - Beneath the frigid waters of Lake Superior lurks an alleged infamous Michigan cryptid: Pressie, the Lake Superior serpent.

Sightings of this aquatic beast date back to the late 1800s near the Presque Isle River.

The creature is been reported widely in Michigan media throughout the years although no clear photos exist of the creature that has reportedly been spotted numerous times throughout the years.

According to information from Cryptid Wiki, descriptions of Pressie typically depict it as having a horse-like head on a long neck, with a body extending 25 feet or more in length.

The creature is believed to be grayish in color and snake-like in appearance.

Over the decades, eyewitnesses have attributed mysterious shipwrecks and other misfortunes on the lake to Pressie's presence.

According to Cryptid Wiki, in 1977, a photograph emerged showing a blurry, serpentine shape breaking the surface of the water, which some point to as evidence of Pressie.

However, skeptics dismiss the image as a rogue wave or floating debris.

Cryptozoologists offer various theories about Pressie's identity. Some speculate it could be a prehistoric plesiosaur that somehow survived extinction, while others suggest it may be an extraordinarily large sturgeon or eel, according to Cryptid Wiki.

Despite these theories, Pressie's true identity remains a mystery, keeping the legend alive in Great Lakes lore.

For sailors and fishermen, Pressie serves as both an omen of ill fate and a symbol of the lake's profound mysteries. The serpent of Lake Superior continues to captivate the imagination, blending folklore with the enigmatic allure of the deep.
