1. Swift and Zac Efron on The Ellen Show

Zac Efron has proved his musical chops time and time again. In 2012, he joined Swift on The Ellen Show for an “impromptu” musical moment. The pair jokingly grabbed two guitars and made up a song on the spot. In typical talk show fashion, the tongue-in-cheek song was almost certainly pre-arranged. Nevertheless, it’s still appealing to see these two unlikely duet partners play off each other.

2. Swift and Def Leppard for CMT Crossroads (2009)

No one would likely pair up Swift with a rock group. Though she has proven she can be a genre bender, she hasn’t ventured too far into hard rock. She did, however, join forces with Def Leppard in 2009 for an installment of CMT Crossroads, a TV event that pairs up unlikely duet partners. The country-turned-pop star added vocals to the band’s “Hysteria.” She managed to become a rocker in that moment.

3. “Half of My Heart” with John Mayer (2010)

Though she isn’t featured prominently on Mayer’s “Half of My Heart,” it still counts as a duet. It’s an artifact from a time before Swift and Mayer started tearing down one another’s banners. Swift’s vocals add a sweetness to this track. It’s a shame things didn’t work out. Their vocals seem tailor made for one another.
