Why Renée Zellweger & Ant Anstead's Relationship Isn't Impacted by Christina Hall's Single Status

Renée Zellweger doesn’t want to be dragged into Christina Hall’s drama. After the HGTV personality split with her husband, Joshua Hall, there were unfounded rumors that the Oscars winner was “wary” of her boyfriend’s second wife . Well, fans don’t need to worry about Zellweger and Anstead because a source close to them is squashing the misinformation.

Any reported concerns about Anstead running back to Christina are “totally laughable,” according to a People source. He was married to the Christina on the Coast star from 2018 until 2021 and they share joint custody of son, Hudson, 4, but it was not an easy split. Their contentious child-custody battle led Hall to make a public statement to the media outlet in 2022 about how hard things were behind the scenes. “If this was really about Hudson, as he says, this should have been handled privately with a private judge or mediation, as myself and my attorney have suggested,” she explained. “I have had my share of ups and downs, but I am a good mom , and I love my children with all my heart, and I will always protect them.”

The heated fight has since settled down, but Christina may have fanned the flames by joking with a follower that it might be fun if Anstead stepped in to replace Josh on The Flip Off. “How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on the flip off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol,” a fan wrote on her July 19 Instagram post. Christina added, “LOL that would be a genius ‘ratings’ idea just sayin.’” Josh was removed from the show, starring Christina, Tarek EL Moussa, and Heather Rae El Moussa, after his breakup. However, Christina wants everyone to know that she “can’t work with any more exes” — telling Backgrid via Entertainment Tonight that Tarek is enough.

Zellweger and Anstead are continuing to keep their relationship off the radar as much as possible, but after three years together, they are still going strong. “They are very happy and in love. They have tried to keep their relationship private and low-key because of Hudson,” an insider told People in 2023 while revealing that they were living together. Anstead also joined Zellweger in London this summer while she was in production for the fourth installment of Bridget Jones’s Diary . It was an opportunity for both of them to spend more time with his children from his first marriage, daughter Amelie, 20, and son Archie, 17.

So, everyone is happy with their current situation and Christina isn’t running back to one of her exes. Zellweger and Anstead are perfectly happy in their little love bubble.
