Why Is ‘The View’ On Hiatus?

While fans of The View may have some sad weeks ahead, the ladies behind the Hot Topics table can finally get their tan on (or whatever else it is they desire).

The show is currently on its annual summer hiatus, but not to worry, because the fan favorite talk show will be back before you know it. In the meantime, ABC is showing reruns so fans can still get their fill.

The last day of Season 27 was Friday, Aug. 2, during which The View announced their new studio in downtown Manhattan. The ladies will leave behind their home of the last 10 years, and will move into what Sunny Hostin told audiences is a “state-of-the-art” studio.

So, why is The View off the air? When can fans expect new episodes to return? Here’s everything we know.

The View is on a four-week scheduled hiatus. In the meantime, ABC will be playing reruns in place of the live show during its normal time slot. The rerun schedule for their next week off air is below, so read on!

The Emmy-award winning talk show will return in September. An official premiere date for Season 28 has yet to be announced, but as the last day of reruns is Sept. 2, it’s safe to assume the show will be back and better than ever the day after Labor Day, on Sept. 3.
