New Balance is embarking on a world tour for a serious of region-exclusive 991v2 “Made in UK” sneakers .

Five different colorways make up the New Balance 991v2 “City Exclusive” series, all but one of which will be limited to just a single city and store. Each of the sneakers features the same mix of black and grey for its “N” logo, toe cap tongue, heel and sole unit. Suede overlays in a single vivid color then serve as the distinctive element with variants in pink, green, blue, red and yellow.

The “City Pack” will commence Saturday, August 10, the day before the Olympics Closing Ceremony with the green 991v2 only releasing at the Paris boutique Starcow. On August 14, the series will move to Tokyo with the pink colorway limited to Atmos. Baltimore, a city that’s long been one of the biggest proponents of New Balance’s place in sneaker culture, will be rewarded August 17 at Social Status with the blue edition. August 21 will bring the red variant to NB Grey in Shanghai, and the series will conclude August 28 with the yellow sneaker dropping in Seoul at Casestudy and Melbourne’s Up There.

New Balance just introduced the 991v2 last year, and Stone Island was chosen to launch the first update to the nearly 25-year-old sneaker through a collaboration. The alterations to the sneaker’s appearance are subtle and favor streamlining, but the more significant change is the edition of more comfortable and modern FuelCell cushioning at full length.

Each colorway released thus far, including additional collaborations with Patta and Kith Women creative director Daniëlle Cathari , has featured premium Made in UK construction.
