As fans filed in to watch the men’s artistic team all-around final, heads turned to the Canadian team – who stole the spotlight – thanks to their tracksuits.
The squad, consisting of Rene Cournoyer, William Emard, Zachary Clay, Felix Dolci and Samuel Zakutney, sought its first medal in the event after finishing seventh at the 2023 World Championships.
However, the Canadians fell short with a total of 245.426, good enough for eighth place, while Japan claimed gold by posting a score of 259.594.
Team USA notched a bronze medal, trailing a star-studded China team that took home silver.
Deguchi won Canada’s first-ever gold in judo, while Katzberg secured the top spot in men’s hammer throw.
Additionally, bronze medalist Sophiane Methot of Team Canada posed on the podium in the same zip-up following the women’s final for trampoline gymnastics.
As of 2:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Canada has 17 medals, including five gold, four silver and eight bronze.
Looking back to Beijing 2022, Canada also showed up with eye-captivating outfits. Canadian hockey star John Tavares was pictured on X wearing another Lululemon-inspired outfit, which set social media ablaze.
Users commented on how the outfit was “so bad,” while others expressed concern about what Team USA would wear.
