Captain Sandy Yawn’s attempt to ease the tension between stews Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller was tough for Aesha Scott to swallow. The captain’s decision frustrated the Below Deck Mediterranean’s chief stew, eliciting her own little “tantrum.”

During Season 9, Episode 10 of Below Deck Med, Captain Sandy decided the two dueling stews could use some space. Besides working together all day, they were also sharing a cabin. Sandy suggested that Aesha’s bunkmate Gael Cameron swap places with Bri. which sent Aesha into a tailspin.

“The day that Sandy told me that I was gonna move cabins, that crushed my soul,” Aesha shared. “Like, that almost ruined the season for me. I was so gutted.”

    Aesha loses her sh*t

“I knew she was right … It [was] for the health of the boat, safety, everyone’s mental well-being,” the chief stew admitted. “But then I definitely went and had a little tantrum. No one else was around, and I think I was holding, like, some candle or a bowl or something. I was so upset that I went, ‘AHH!’ and I chucked it on the floor … I was being silly, but I felt so sh*tty.”

Sadly, Gael felt the same way about losing her cabin-mate, as they’d become close. “However upset they were getting with each other, that’s how upset I got internally,” she said.

Explaining why the deckie and the chief stew had become such good friends, Aesha said, “I was managing Ellie and Brie, who were so insanely sensitive … I loved that I could just come into the room and [tell Gael], ‘You f*cking bitch, curl my hair! Let’s go.'”

In the end, Aesha realizes that Sandy’s decision was “a big learning moment for me as a leader.”

“I had to be a boss rather than a friend and follow on with that whole ‘for the good of the boat,’ even though I hated it,” she confessed.

Though stews have been known to have personality clashes from time to time, Aesha’s never seen a case so extreme that sleeping arrangements were changed. “This was the first time in all my whole entire yachting career that I’ve ever seen stews have to actually leave cabins.”

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
