Cracker Barrel is working hard to fight off what the chain called "pumpkin spice fatigue," debuting a variety of new menu items for the fall all themed after a different popular flavor: apple.

The special apple-centric additions to the menu include the Signature Fried Apple French Toast Bake, the Southern Apple Cobbler, and two drinks, the Granny Smith Apple Mimosa and the Granny Smith Apple Tea, as shared in a new press release .

The Signature Fried Apple French Toast Bake has country bread soaked in vanilla custard, with cheesecake filling, a brown sugar streusel, and the restaurant's signature fried apples on top to make a delicious treat for guests. The new dish also comes with Butter Pecan Syrup and bacon or sausage on the side.

The new alcoholic Granny Smith Apple Mimosa is sparkling wine with Granny Smith apple puree, and the non-alcoholic Granny Smith Apple Tea is signature iced tea blended with Granny Smith apple puree.

Along with all the apple-themed items guests are sure to love this fall, Cracker Barrel is also adding a new Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie, with pot roast, homestyle gravy and tasty veggies covered with a griddled hashbrown casserole crust and sour cream.

"As autumn approaches, guests are seeking flavors beyond the standard pumpkin spice and we know they're ready for warm comfort food to accompany cooler temperatures outside," said Julia Perry , the vice president of marketing communications at Cracker Barrel.

She continued, "Cracker Barrel's fall menu is equipped to meet both of those needs. Our new Fried Apple French Toast Bake, inspired by our signature fried apples, and savory Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie, a new twist on our beloved hashbrown casserole provides guests the delicious flavor and comfort they're craving more than ever this season."

Cracker Barrel hopes the new offerings give customers the perfect fall flavors they're looking for. And who knows? Maybe apple is set to take the top spot from pumpkin spice.
