The hustle and bustle of big city life is often a draw for tourists looking to explore what exciting nightlife and award-winning restaurants. However, some of the most charming and interesting places to visit are the smaller towns scattered around the vast expanse of America.

Cheapism searched around the U.S. for the best small towns to visit in the country, compiling a list of the "cute small towns [that] represent much of what is great about each state or region, just on a smaller scale than larger cities — and typically at a lower price."

Among the list, which includes stunning destinations like seaside towns in Florida and locales in the heart of "bourbon country" in Kentucky, is one town in Ohio . Yellow Springs was named one of the best smaller towns to visit in the country, earning praise for its "quirky" attractions. The site also suggests checking out the Glen Helen Nature Preserve's Raptor Center which "offers educational programs and rehabilitates birds of prey, such as owls, hawks, and falcons.

Here's what the site had to say:

"Hippie culture still thrives along the streets of the Midwestern town of Yellow Springs. Its quirky and brightly colored Main Street features bookstores, local artists' shops, and small restaurants. Be sure to stop in the Village Artisans gallery and Epic Book Shop. After shopping, check the Glen Helen Nature Preserve to explore waterfalls, natural springs."

Defiance Ohio not much there either. Same old crap like Taco Bell Wendy’s Applebees. Nothing new anymore. Not even an American buffet yet. I would think by now someone would’ve bought the video place for sale by papa John’s and turn it into one.
