Watch Metallica's James Hetfield Sing 'Enter Sandman' After Inhaling Helium

James Hetfield turned 61 on Saturday (August 3), and the Metallica frontman celebrated with a hilarious video on Instagram. It begins with him inhaling helium and then singing happy birthday to himself in a squeaky voice.

“Hi, everybody. I’m 61. Did you know that?” he said before bursting into laughter. Then he put the icing on the cake by sucking in more helium from a balloon and singing "Enter Sandman." It's pretty jarring to hear that voice come out of that man, but it's also HILARIOUS!

Hetfield's birthday was sandwiched between two shows at Boston's Gillette Stadium as Metallica kicked off another North American leg of their M72 tour . See his hilarious Instagram post and a full list of Metallica tour dates below.
