Nikola Jokic Leads Serbia in Historic Victory

Nikola Jokic is one of the clutches players of all time. Known for fourth-quarter heroics and outlasting opponents in the waning minutes of close contests, Jokic did it again, this time on a global stage. Despite falling in a 14-point hole, Serbia ripped the soul from Australia in a 95-90 overtime thriller.
Jokic scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 points. Serbia's miraculous comeback left the proud international basketball competitor Patty Mills in disbelief.
"I thought we threw everything at them," Mills said. "We're playing against world-class individuals. World-class teams. World-class coaches. And this is why you play international basketball. It's a different sport than any other league around the world. It brings the best out of everyone."
The 2024 postseason Los Angeles Lakers can emphasize with Australia, as the LeBron James-led team also thought they had multiple games in the bag vs. the Nuggets. The Lakers led the series for over 150 minutes compared to the Nuggets 50.
Although Jokic doesn't speak much, his fourth-quarter heroics do the talking for the three-time NBA MVP. When Serbis needed Jokic most, he took the game to the next level in the final two minutes of overtime by scoring four points.
Jokic spearheads Serbia on a challenging journey to its first Olympic medal finish since 2016. However, the next contest will be even more difficult as Team USA symbolizes Goliath to Serbia's David.
Typically, Jokic is the best bet in a winner-go-home match, but Team USA has Serbia's number as it has combined for a 52-point margin in the last two matches.
