The Paris Olympics are coming to an end soon after an entertaining run. However, there has been much controversy swirling for various reasons.

One of them is the condition of the Seine River, which reportedly caused several athletes to get sick and even one triathlon team to forfeit an event after a teammate was hospitalized.

Another is the quality of the food at the Olympic Village. British swimmer Adam Peaty had eye-raising comments allegedly claiming there were worms in the food (h/t Emily Crane of The New York Post).

“I like my fish and people are finding worms in the fish," Beaty said. "It’s just not good enough. The standard, we’re looking at the best of the best in the world — and we’re feeding them not the best.”

However, those claims have been strongly refuted by one of the vendors. French catering company Sodexo Live! issued a strong statement after Beaty's accusations caught the airwaves (h/t TM ZSports).

"There has been zero proof of the truthfulness of this statement, which obviously raises a rather serious allegation," the company said.

They continued, saying, "There is no information that’s been able to provide validity to this sensationalist claim."

The Olympic Committee also chimed in on these claims: "The 550 dishes on offer in the Dining Hall were developed together with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the IOC over a period of more than a year."

Sodexo! Live is making approximately 40,000 meals per day for the athletes, so these are certainly some serious allegations from Beaty.

As of now, there has been no photo evidence from Beaty, and both the vendor and the Committee have issued a strong response to those claims.
