Sunny Episode 6 has aired, and now the viewers want to know what happened to Suzie and whether she finds Sunny at the end of the episode. The series revolves around an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan. Following the sudden and apparent deaths of her husband, Masa, and son, Zen, in a plane crash, Suzie discovers that Masa hasn’t been entirely truthful about his job. What happens to Noriko and Suzie at the end of Sunny Episode 6?
In episode 6, Noriko gets arrested on purpose after pretending to shoplift at a grocery store. When Suzie comes to bail her out later in the episode, she refuses to leave, claiming that she has found friends in the holding facility. Throughout the earlier episodes, the series established Noriko’s loneliness and the impact that the loss of her son and grandson has had on her. With her old friends avoiding her, it appears that she actively sought new ones out, even though that they are criminals.
Suzie goes to the police along with Mixxy to report Sunny’s abduction, but the police officer refuses to write a report after learning that Sunny is not a person, but a homebot. Through a marketing mascot, the Yakuza reaches out to Suzie, giving her a piece of Sunny and warning her if she doesn’t comply with the instructions from here on out, she will receive a part of the homebot every hour. After Mixxy leaves as she has an important photo shoot at work, men in a sweet potato truck abduct Suzie and take her to Hime, who wants Suzie to help her break into Masa’s computer. Facing the threats of torture, Suzie says helplessly that she doesn’t know the password.
Eventually, Suzie uses the name of Masa’s biological father. While that doesn’t exactly work, it leads to the computer asking for a hand-gesture authentification. Suddenly, Suzie realizes what the answer is. She raises her middle finger to Hime, and then to the computer, and it unlocks. Suzie also learns that Hime’s father has passed away, and figures out that there is an internal struggle within the organization about who will succeed him. When she voices these things, it unsettles Hime enough to hit her.
Does Suzie reunite with Sunny in Episode 6?
Yes, Suzie reunites with Sunny in episode 6, but not in the way she hoped.
The Yakuza lets Suzie go. While she is visiting Noriko in jail to bail her out, Mixxy receives a note from the Yakuza, telling her to come to the Otagi Nenbutsu-Ji temple right now. Shortly after arriving there, Mixxy finds Sunny and takes her back to Suzie’s home. However, both women soon discover that something is deeply wrong with Sunny. The homebot doesn’t activate despite Suzie’s commands and falls forward. It’s possible that she just needs to recharge to be operational again. But, it’s equally possible that Yakuza might have severely damaged her while looking for information on Masa’s work.
