For no apparent reason, a passenger in New York pepper-sprayed an Uber driver.

On Friday, the Upper East Side of New York City saw the occurrence.

The driver has released a video of a woman jumping out of the backseat, turning around, and splashing the gullible man in the face. Shohel Mahmud, the driver, tries to escape the car as quickly as possible, but the woman keeps clutching his arm and spraying him.

Since then, Jen Guilbeault, 23, has been taken into custody by the police and accused of assault.

A second woman in the backseat seemed appalled by the attack, but she is not being prosecuted now.

Uber Representatives Claim They Removed Rider From Their Platform And Want Legal Authorities To Take Action Against Her

Since then, Mahmud has discussed the incident and claimed that Guilbeault sprayed him without cause.

"Yes, the burning lasted two hours," he replied. Mahmud attempted to exit the car a few seconds after being sprayed, but he was still wearing his seatbelt.

Mahmud maintains that he had not spoken to the women at all.

A representative for Uber stated that the rider's actions in the video are deplorable. The rider has been removed from the Uber platform, and violence is unacceptable. In every way we can, we will assist the police in their investigation.

Attacker's Roommate Was Unaware of The Incident

Guilbeault's roommate told local news in New York that they had been in touch ever since, even though she was unaware of the occurrence.

Mahmud, today the main breadwinner for his family and lives in Bangladesh, acknowledged that the event had a detrimental effect on his finances.

Nobody was able to reach Guilbeault's lawyer for a response.
