    BTS’ Suga Apologizes for “Careless Actions” After Driving Under the Influence on Scooter

    BTS band member Suga has said he is “deeply sorry” after being fined for driving an electric scooter under the influence.

    The star of the K-pop band took to social media Wednesday to say he was “very heavy-hearted” to bring fans “disappointing news”.

    “I rode an electric scooter home after drinking at a dinner last night,” the 31-year-old wrote. He siad he thought it was a “short distance” and didn’t realize that you can’t use an electric scooter under the influence, therefore violating road traffic laws.

    “I fell while parking the electric scooter in front of my house, and there was a police officer nearby… I was given a breathalyzer test and subsequently had my license revoked and was fined.”

    The singer and rapper added that no one was harmed or any facilities damaged, but “this is my responsibility and I have no excuses.” “I apologize to everyone who was hurt by my careless and wrong actions, and I will be more careful in my actions to avoid this from happening again.”

    The globally successful South Korean boy band is on hiatus as its members complete mandatory military service . Suga began his last year, working as a social service agent.

    BTS’s record label, Bighit, also released an apology for the incident. “We express our sincere apology for the incident involving BTS member Suga and his electric kickboard accident. We apologize for the disappointment caused by the artist’s inappropriate behavior. As a social service agent during his military service, he is prepared to accept any disciplinary actions from his place of work for causing a social disturbance.

    “We will take greater care to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future.”
