Wednesday Season 2 Is “More Horror-Inspired” Teases Jenna Ortega

Season two of Wednesday is underway at Netflix, and Jenna Ortega has given fans a little teaser of what's to come from the second season of the series from Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Tim Burton.

In an interview with Vanity Fair , Ortega says, "I think the feel that we're going for is a little bit more horror-inspired".

She also revealed that one of this season's inspirations is Roger Corman's 1964 film, The Masque of the Red Death which is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's short story of the same name.

The film follows a prince who terrorizes the town while using his castle as a safe haven against the "Red Death" plague threatening the land.

However, Ortega makes the differentiation clear, saying, "Not to say that suddenly we're the goriest show of all time", but that they're experimenting with the approach, as Ortega reveals, "We're doing this thing now where Wednesday just kind of appears. She is a little bit of a jump scare herself."

Wednesday season two adds a new cast member in Steve Buscemi, and Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are now series regulars as per Vanity Fair.

Season two does not yet have a release date and has had very few updates since the announcement of a second season was made in January 2023.

With the strikes, it is understandable that it's taking a little while for the show to come back, but season two is now in production, and Wednesday will return – it's just a matter of when .
